Product round up

My sister-in-law Corinne gave me a few of her favorite beauty products for Christmas this year and it reminded me that I have discovered most of my must-haves through friend recommendations. So, I thought I would share the love on my blog. In no particular order, here are the products I can't seem to live without:

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
My sister B told me about CeraVe lotion years ago. Recently, our pediatric dermatologist recommended the slightly thicker moisturizing cream for Molly. I've been using it too and am hooked. It even helped clear up the angry red bumps on my arms and legs -- a must-have for the winter!

Phyto Universal Elixer - Scalp Stimulant
After Molly was born, I started having major problems with my scalp. It was so dry and itchy, at one point, I even thought I had psoriasis. Thanks to a helpful salesperson at Ulta, I discovered Phyto Universal Elixer. This stuff is expensive ($32), but I have not found anything else that works as well, even prescription treatments. It smells awful and I have to leave it on overnight for the best results, so I try to use it only when Jason is out of town. It's worth it though!

Butter London Yummy Mummy Nail Polish
Corinne gave me this nail polish for Christmas and it's already on my list of faves -- the perfect neutral color for fingernails. For toes, I love OPI Cajun Shrimp and Essie Forget Me Not.

Ulta Eye Brow Gel
My hair is pretty straight, so it makes no sense to me that my eyebrows are curly. What gives? I started using  clear eye brow gel from Ulta and it has made such a difference -- I've even received a few compliments. On my brows. Crazy!

Dove Go Fresh Cucumber and Green Tea Deodorant
It works, it's cheap, and it smells good. I've been using this stuff for years.

Gillette Spa Breeze Disposable Razors
Major time saver. I love these razors. You don't have to use soap or lather and in my crowded little stand-up shower, that makes a huge difference.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleanser
Again, I have to thank the B for this one. This face wash is so gentle and it seems to melt the make-up off my face. Even mascara. It's on the pricey side, but lasts forever.

Benefit They're Real Mascara
Warning, this mascara is not for everyday use. It's intense, but gives you big fun lashes for special occasions. For work, I use Ulta brand mascara -- the orange tube.

Cover Girl Invisible Cream Concealer
Ha, I've been using this stuff since I was a teenager! It's a really light concealer -- I don't like the thick kind. Perfect for covering up the red areas I get around my nose!

Too Faced Naked Eye Eyeshadow Collection
I have to credit Dana for this one. After years of just brushing on a single basic neutral eyeshadow (Stila Kitten), she convinced me to get one of these kits from Too Faced. Apparently they have a bunch of different palettes, but I really like the Naked Eye kit for everyday wear. It's so easy to use and even includes little how-to cards that tell you what shade to put where to achieve the perfect neutral eye. Easy and awesome!
